Murphy is returning to Tucson with a more impressive title: Associate head coach.
Murphy stepped down as NAU's head coach Sunday night and will be joining Sean Miller's staff as the lead assistant, both schools announced. Murphy replaces Mark Phelps, whose contract will not be renewed. No contract details were immediately available.
