LOS ANGELES — Behind the throng of Arizona Wildcats, chins down, USC’s “Spirit of Troy” marching band blared “Conquest” with a few new lyrics.
“Beat,” Trojans faithful screamed, “the Buffaloes!”
USC has already moved on to Friday’s game against the Pac-12 South’s bottom-dwellers. Arizona, meanwhile, can’t seem to let this one — a 38-30 loss at the Los Angeles Coliseum — go.
The Wildcats led USC for most of the first half, and was close to pulling off the biggest upset of the Rich Rodriguez era.
Their hopes were doomed by a half-dozen momentum-shifting plays.
