Khalil Tate replaced by freshman QB Jamarye Joiner for Arizona Wildcats

Arizona Wildcats quarterback Khalil Tate was replaced at quarterback by true freshman Jamarye Joiner on Arizona's first possession of the second quarter Friday night in Salt Lake City.

Tate was sacked in the first quarter and appeared to re-injure his ankle. He's battled injuries seemingly all season.

The Wildcats (3-3 overall, 2-1 Pac-12) were down 14-0 after the first quarter and trailed in time of possession 11:45 to 3:15. Utah had outgained Arizona 165 yards to 11.

Joiner played at Vail Cienega.

Utah (3-2, 1-2) came in off a 40-21 win over Stanford to avoid an 0-3 start to conference play.
