Ricky Barnes and Jim Furyk both made the decision to not head over to Europe to play in The Open Championship, and stayed in the states to compete at the Barbasol Championship. Neither came out on top, but Barnes help himself in the FedEx Cup standings with his final position at the tournament.
Heading into play on Thursday, Ricky Barnes was ranked 150th in the FedEx Cup Standings. He started the weekend off with a 68 and 66, on a par 71 course, those numbers helped him make the cut at -8.
