The NCAA transfer portal has taketh quite a bit from the Arizona Wildcats since the 2020 season ended.
On Monday, it finally giveth back a little.
Gunner Maldonado, a safety who began his career at Northwestern, announced on Twitter he had committed to Arizona.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Maldonado, who is from Chandler, Ariz., appeared in three games as a freshman for Northwestern. He was a 3-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class, ranked by 247Sports as the No. 17 player in Arizona.
Maldonado will help fill a major need for Arizona in the secondary, where it only has a handful of scholarship defensive backs.
