Bucs' Rob Gronkowski on his Patriots days: 'Those years in New England mean everything to me'

It didn’t take long for Rob Gronkowski to turn into an athlete who was larger than life. It happened fast in New England. After being drafted in 2010, he went from promising rookie to a person identified by one nickname:

Gronk.

In 2011, he broke Jimmy Graham’s single-season tight end record with 1,327 yards. His 18 touchdowns (17 receiving) to set another single-season tight end. That second NFL season led to the creation of “Gronk,” a fun-loving athlete who appealed to everyone – young, old, male and female.

In nine years with the Patriots, Gronkowski won three Super Bowls, changed the tight end position and put together a career that’ll likely put him in the Hall of Fame.
