Brandon Dawkins started the second half of the Territorial Cup at quarterback for the Arizona Wildcats, but starting quarterback Khalil Tate returned on UA's third drive of the half.
Dawkins replaced Tate again one possession later. Tate's only second-half drive lasted six plays and 17 yards before ending in a punt.
Tate appeared to be injured on the final play of the first half, a Hail Mary from ASU's 45-yard line.
Pac-12 Network sideline reporter Jill Savage reported that Tate's left, non-throwing shoulder is "continuing to give him problems."
Dawkins rushed twice for a total of eight yards in UA's opening possession of the half as the Wildcats went three and out.
