Banged-up Khalil Tate creates uncertainty for Arizona Wildcats at quarterback again

In 2013, B.J. Denker started every game at quarterback for the Arizona Wildcats. In 2014, Anu Solomon did the same.

It hasn’t happened since. And it might not happen this season.

When he addressed the media Monday afternoon, UA coach Kevin Sumlin did not have a quarterback plan for Saturday’s game at UCLA — or at least one he wanted to disclose publicly.

Sumlin did say that he doesn’t want to repeat what happened Friday with Khalil Tate. Tate reinjured his sprained left ankle during Arizona’s second offensive series at Utah and did not return. He has come up hobbling at least once in almost every game since the original injury occurred Sept.
