TUCSON – The Arizona Wildcats’ long, eventful flirtation with four-star quarterback Braxton Burmeister has come to an end.
Burmeister – verbally committed to Arizona since last spring – is headed to Oregon, the Arizona Daily Star has learned. The Ducks, under new coach Willie Taggart, swooped in with a late offer that Burmeister apparently couldn’t refuse.
This is actually the second time Burmeister, from La Jolla (Calif.) Country Day School, has decommitted from Arizona. It happened the first time in March 2015. In a rare move in the recruiting world, Burmeister recommitted to Arizona about two months later.
