Just as excitement for the new 2017-2018 Arizona Athletics year was peaking, the athletic department got some bad news as gymnastics coach Tabitha Yim suddenly resigned.
Coach Yim had only been at Arizona for two years but was already making her mark as a future elite coach. She had a tough year in 2017 with many injuries, but the team remained competitive and improved as the year progressed. Unfortunately for Arizona, the Stanford gymnastics coach resigned and the Cardinal came calling and lured Yim back to her alma mater.
New Athletics Director David Heeke is beginning his search for a new head gymnastics coach.
