Arizona forward Trinity Baptiste selected in second round of WNBA Draft by Indiana Fever

In a pleasant surprise, Arizona Wildcats forward Trinity Baptiste was selected in the second round of the 2021 WNBA Draft on Thursday. The Indiana Fever took her with the 24th overall pick.

Most mock drafts had Baptiste going undrafted in the three-round draft.

The senior averaged 8.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game in her lone season with the Wildcats, joining them as a graduate transfer from Virginia Tech. She started in all 27 games and shot 44 percent from the field and 34 percent from 3.

Her physicality was often a tone-setter for Arizona’s aggressive defense.
