ALBUQUERQUE — Cody Ippolito remembers the 2012 New Mexico Bowl quite well, just maybe for a different reason than most.
The headline was Arizona’s miraculous late-game comeback, complete with two touchdowns and an onside kick within a 90-second stretch to win against Nevada 49-48.
Earlier in the game, after Arizona allowed three first-quarter touchdowns to the Wolf Pack, Ippolito got into a fight with UA defensive lineman Tevin Hood. Both players were sent to the locker room and, eventually, home.
“I had an experience, to say the least,” he said.
Then redshirting his true freshman season, Ippolito didn’t play in that New Mexico Bowl.
