You have heard Gerhard De Beer‘s name when talking Arizona Football, but you may not know that De Beer is also a Track and Field star as well. Originally from South Africa, De Beer is a 6’7″, 311-pound redshirt freshman offensive lineman who is attending the UofA on a Track and Field scholarship.
De Beer is the World Youth and Junior Games bronze medalist and holds national boys U-16 and U-18 records in the discus. Gerhard has come a long way from playing Rugby and Track in South Africa to learning how to put on his football pads from his teammate Luco Bruno.
