One couldn’t fault the Arizona Wildcats if they were down heading into this week.
They had just lost four consecutive Pac-12 games — three of them in walk-off fashion — and on a rainy weekend in Corvallis, the Cats were unable to come away with a win against arguably the nation’s best team.
“That’s a very good team; very complete when you look at Oregon State,” Arizona head coach Jay Johnson said after returning from that trip. “I think they’re better than anybody we played last year, and I have to credit our guys. The results weren’t what we wanted, but it’s a tough environment to play in, and we stuck with it.
