It was a series built with much hype, and anytime Arizona and ASU battle, you certainly have to prepare for intense competition, and perhaps bitter emotions in this old rivalry.
As we highlighted before, the Wildcats were winners of 11 of their last 14 games heading into the weekend series with ASU. Preparing for a big series, the Wildcats were certainly hoping to capitalize on this opportunity, telling fans to pack Hi-C (Hi-Corbett field). Arizona is in third place in the Pac-12 with a 32-18 (15-12 in conference) record behind Washington and Utah.
The first game of the series opened up with plenty of action.
