Why ASU's new statue of Pat Tillman means so much to Todd Graham

Over Todd Graham’s six years at Arizona State, the coach has made Pat Tillman a centerpiece of his football program.

“PT-42” – Tillman’s initials and college jersey number – is the program's backbone, a symbol of excellence. You can find it on ASU’s game jerseys. You can see it throughout the new football facility. It's everywhere.

During a private ceremony Wednesday, ASU will take the next step, unveiling a statue of Tillman on the north end of Sun Devil Stadium. When the Sun Devils take the field Thursday night against New Mexico State, they will exit the locker room and run through Tillman Tunnel, every player touching the Tillman statue while doing so.
