Oklahoma City - The seventh-ranked Sun Devil softball coaching staff was one of eleven programs to be honored by the NFCA as a 2018 Division I Regional Coaching Staff of the Year, the organization announced Tuesday.
Reigning Pac-12 Coach of the Year Trisha Ford, along with assistant coaches Katie Richardson and Carly Wynn, volunteer assistant Jeff Harger were joined by operations personnel Jenna Makis and Taylor Green in being named the West Regional Coaching Staff of the Year.
After being picked to finish sixth in the Pac-12 preseason poll, Arizona State rattled off a 48-win season that included a 16-8 record in Pac-12 play earning the team a third place finish in the conference, and the team's first trip to the Women's College World Series since 2013.
