Sun Devil women’s basketball teammates senior guard Katie Hempen and junior center Quinn Dornstauder will be on opposite benches when the USA takes on Canada in the gold-medal game of the World University Games on Monday.
The USA advanced to the gold-medal game after a hard-fought, 102-98, double-overtime win over Japan in Saturday’s semifinal. Hempen has appeared in three of the USA’s five games thus far and has connected on half of her 3-pointers (2-4).
