TUCSON – Sun Devil Track and Field headed down south this past weekend for the Desert Heat Classic in Tucson, Arizona. The team put together a strong showing, earning 12 top-seven finishes throughout the meet across multiple events.
Jonathan Estrada led the way in the men's 3000m, clocking an 8:43.08 to secure a third-place finish. He maintained a strong pace throughout the race and closed with a powerful final lap to clinch his spot on the podium.
The Sun Devils also saw several other top-five finishes. Malik Franklin and Mateo Medina placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the highly competitive men's 400m, with times separated by just five-thousandths of a second.
