Sun Devil Football fifth-year linebacker Merlin Robertson lands on the Butkus Award Preseason Watch List, the latest Sun Devil to be identified as one of the best at his position heading into the 2022 season.
Instituted in 1985, The Butkus Award goes to the top linebacker in college football. Robertson is in exclusive company on this list, joined by 50 of the best defenders in college football. Very few of that group have the career resume that Robertson boasts, as he returns to Tempe after already having put together four productive seasons.
