LOS ANGELES – Sun Devil Softball lost its opening game of the Los Angeles Regional to San Diego State 3-2 on Friday night at Easton Stadium. ASU now moves into the elimination bracket, where it needs to win four straight games to advance to the Super Regionals.
Pitching dominated the game, with each team managing only one run through the first five innings. After San Diego State scored a run in the top of the first, settled in and allowed just one hit and one walk over the next five innings. She had 10 strikeouts during the run, including five straight at one point.
