Sam Peraza is Arizona State baseball's new pitching coach, coming from San Diego State where he held the same job for six seasons.
Peraza replaces Jason Kelly, who was ASU pitching coach for two seasons under former head coach Tracy Smith.
Kelly was at first going to remain on new coach Willie Bloomquist's staff, adding duties as recruiting coordinator, but that pairing fell apart when Kelly asked to interview at LSU, where he was subsequently hired.
Peraza, 42, brings needed college experience to the new staff and will double as recruiting coordinator. He was San Diego State associate head coach for the past two years.
