Saguaro's Byron Murphy picks Washington over ASU

Scottsdale Saguaro senior cornerback/wide receiver Byron Murphy, azcentral sports' No. 1 2016 football prospect, has committed to Washington.

Murphy, 6-foot, 170 pounds, was the Division II Player of the Year by azcentral. He made his announcement on Thursday at Saguaro High School.

His other finalists were Arizona State, USC and Texas A&M.

Murphy's close friends, Chandler teammates N'Keal Harry and Chase Lucas, both committed to ASU.

Murphy and Harry, who last teamed up at Tempe Marcos de Niza as sophomores, are expected to team up for the International Bowl on Jan.
