Phil Mickelson makes history, wins PGA Championship

Arizona State alum Phil Mickelson cemented his name in the record books on Sunday, becoming the oldest winner (50-years-old) of a major tournament when he took home the victory at Kiawah Island’s Ocean Course in South Carolina.

Mickelson finished two shots ahead of his nearest competitors in Brooks Koepka and Louis Oosthuizen. Overall, Mickelson finished at six-over during the weekend.

Mickelson’s last PGA Championship came more than 15 years ago in 2005, and his last major win was in 2013. He now has six major titles in his storied career.

Going into the final round on Sunday, Mickelson was in a battle all afternoon with Koepka, but lefty was able to fend off the competition and make history.
