Pac-12 eliminates transfer penalty, strengthens non-conference basketball scheduling

The transfer portal has made it a lot easier for athletes to move from one school to another. Now comes another move — this one by the Pac-12 — that will help athletes that want to change schools within the conference.

At the Pac-12's annual spring meeting held Monday at its headquarters in San Francisco the CEO Group approved several measures, including one that eliminates the "loss of a season" penalty for athletes who want to transfer from one Pac-12 school to another. Such athletes would still have to sit out a year, but it would not count against their eligibility.
