New Caledonia—Weeks after wrapping up the college swimming season, the Sun Devils kicked off the summer racing season in a big way. Anna Olasz and Jan Kutnik both made the long trip to New Caledonia to represent their respective countries at the FINA World Cup event that took place last weekend, April 18-19.
Olasz, a native of Hungary, started the meet in good fashion taking second place in the 10-kilometer event on Saturday morning. Somewhat dissatisfied, Olasz improved on her performance on Sunday, winning the 5-kilometer event with a time of 58:19 -- almost a full minute in front of second place.
