TEMPE, Ariz. – In the first game of the weekend, the No. 7 Sun Devil Women's Water Polo team opened up the second-annual Cross-Conference Challenge with a 13-6 win over No. 12 Princeton.
Arizona State (2-1) scored the first six goals of the game before Princeton (0-1) got on the scoresheet just two seconds before halftime.
After the half, ASU scored four more straight to lead, 10-1 with 4:33 remaining in the third quarter. Princeton scored five of the last eight goals but the Devils' early lead sustained as they earned the win.
Maud Koopman led the way for the Sun Devils with four goals and four steals while Lieke Rogge and Borbala Kekesi scored two goals apiece.
