A formidable opponent, Hawai'i started the season ranked one lower than the Sun Devils, in a tie for sixth with UC Irvine.
In their season opener on Jan. 12, ASU defeated Marist, 16-8, and Maud Koopman started the season where she left off, leading the way with five goals on seven shots.
