No. 24 ASU women dominate Cal to clinch seventh straight 20-win season

Charli Turner Thorne asked her younger players to rise to the occasion of senior weekend for their Arizona State women's basketball elders.

They did just that in a big way Friday night, combining for 30 points and 23 rebounds in a 77-54 win over California at Desert Financial Arena.

The 23-point margin was ASU's largest of the season in Pac-12 play, assuring the Sun Devils (20-9, 10-7 Pac-12) of a seventh straight 20-win season and clinching the No. 5 seed for next week's conference tournament in Las Vegas.

ASU will meet Cal (10-18, 2-15) again on Thursday in a Pac-12 Tournament first round game at Mandalay Bay Events Center.
