TEMPE, Ariz. – The No. 17 Arizona State women’s basketball team used a dominant defensive performance and a big first-half run to defeat Columbia 70-49 in the final day of the annual ASU Classic.
Senior Katie Hempen and junior Quinn Dornstauder each scored a game-high 14 points for the Sun Devils (4-3), who had only seven turnovers. Freshman Sabrina Haines tied a career high with 11 points on 3-4 shooting from beyond the arc.
Dornstauder, who led ASU with 17 points in Saturday’s game vs. VCU, was named to the ASU Classic All-Tournament Team.
