Michael Turk back, ready to punt for ASU after leaving for NFL draft

Michael Turk came to Arizona State, somewhat out of nowhere.

He redshirted, punted for a season then, with two years of eligibility remaining, left for the NFL.

Now, completely out of COVID left field, he is back at ASU thanks to an athlete-friendly NCAA ruling that the pandemic prevented him from having standard opportunities at pro days and individual workouts to showcase himself for pro scouts.

It's the second unexpected twist on special teams in as many seasons, made more knotty by Logan Tyler, a three-year starting punter at Florida State, transferring to ASU in May, a month before Turk regained his eligibility.
