That was the case for the Sun Devil men's golf team in the first round of The Goodwin held at Stanford Golf Course (par-70/6,742 yards) Thursday, as the Sun Devils are in second heading to the second round on Friday, trailing only host Stanford by three strokes. ASU shot a 2-under 278.
The 28 team/146-player field will tee Friday as the Sun Devils had no one in the top 10 and no one out of the top 40. Sophomore Ryggs Johnston and junior Cameron Sisk both are tied for 14th at one-under 69.
