The Sun Devils understood the assignment Sunday morning in the third round of the 2022 NCAA Golf Championship at Grayhawk Golf Club.
Play better than Saturday. No reason can't be the best team of the day.
The Sun Devils did just that, matching Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Pepperdine for the best round of the day with a 3-under 277, 15 shots better than Saturday.
Heading to Monday's fourth and final round -- where the field will be cut to eight teams for match play -- the Sun Devils (290-292-277) are sixth at 19-over 859. They will tee with North Carolina and Pepperdine Monday.
