The Arizona State men's golf team is in the mix for the 15-team title along with several others at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Tournament in Las Vegas, which finishes Tuesday with a final 18 holes.
ASU is at 7-over 583 (287-296) as the second round brought high scores to everyone, as scores ranged from Oklahoma (3-over 291) to Pepperdine (16-over 304),
Junior Josele Ballester shot a 5-under 67 to lead the fourth-ranked Sun Devil men's golf team in the first round, and then battled his way to a 2-over 74 in the second round.
