PHOENIX – Timmy Manning shoved a career high 5.2 innings and six strikeouts and Jonny Weaver laced the game-winning RBI in the seventh, as Sun Devil Baseball beat San Diego State 1-0, sweeping opening weekend at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.
Manning did not allow a hit through 5.1 innings of action in his Sun Devil debut and exited with a mere two allowed. Jesse Wainscott shoved six strikeouts in relief to earn his first win as a Sun Devil, including four over the final two innings with a runner on third.
