PARIS - No. 14 seeded Desirae Krawczyk '16 and partner Alexa Guarachi (Alabama '13) came just shy of the doubles title at this year's French Open, losing 4-6, 5-7 to defending champions and No. 2 seed Timea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic Sunday morning in Paris. The match marked both Krawczyk and Guarachi's first Grand Slam final appearance and capped off a week that featured the U.S.-Chilean duo beat higher seeds Hsieh Su-wei and Barbora Strycova, and No. 7 seeds Shuko Aoyama and Ena Shibahara.
"What a great two weeks it's been making my first Grand Slam Final," Krawczyk posted on Instagram after the match.
