LONDON – Former Sun Devil women's tennis standout Desirae Krawczyk and teammate Giuiliana Olmos (Mexico) advanced to the second round of the women's doubles tournament at The Championships, Wimbledon with a 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 win over Guarachi/Santamaria Wednesday in London.
This is Krawczyk's third major tournament this year, and at Both Roland-Garros and in Melbourne, the Palm Desert, California native punched tickets to the third round with different doubles partners at each outing.
Krawczyk/Olmos will try to stay alive in the prestigious championship when they face the seven-seed tandem of American Nicole Melichar and former Wimbledon doubles champion Kveta Peschke of the Czech Republic Friday.
