DALLAS, Texas – Incoming Sun Devil men's hockey player Demetrios Koumontzis was selected by the Calgary Flames in the 4th round (108th overall selection) of the 2018 NHL Draft on Saturday, June 22nd.
Koumontzis signed his National Letter of Intent to ASU with the fall 2017 signing class and entered the draft ranked No. 136 among North American skaters. During the 2017-18 season, Koumontzis averaged nearly a goal per game with 20 goals and 21 assists in 24 games for Edina High School, while adding an additional two goals and two assists in three postseason games.
