PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – No. 8 John-Baptiste/Hattingh battled and advanced into the quarterfinal round at the Riviera ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, California, Thursday afternoon.
The Sweet 16 matchup pitted the Sun Devil duo against some conference foes from UCLA in No. 29 Bolton/Hart.
The match didn't start out in the Devils' favor as they found themselves down 2-5 in a one-set pro-style match.
"I thought Lauryn and Ilze did a great job of battling back from a break down at 2-5, and having another break point at 2-6," associate head coach Matt Langley said.
