TEMPE – Arizona State ice hockey team (11-14-0) was unable to split the series against the No. 17 Minnesota State Mavericks (14-9-1) with a 5-0 loss on Saturday night in front of a soldout crowd at Mullett Arena. It's the first time that the Sun Devils have been swept at home in the Mullett Era.

ASU lost the shot battle 31–26 and weren't able to capitalize on the power play for the second consecutive game. Four MSU goals were scored on the even strength and the fifth and final goal was scored on the power play.
