Trisha Ford is at a loss for superlatives when asked to describe the performance of her star pitcher Giselle Juarez over the last three weeks.
Gee whiz might be good for a player who goes by G except that doesn't do justice to what the sophomore left-hander is accomplishing. She's the NFCA and USA Softball Pitcher of the Week and, for a third straight time, the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week. These are honors unseen at ASU since the Dallas Escobedo pitching era (2011-14). Even Escobedo did not three-peat as Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week.
The 6-foot Juarez struck out a career high 17 -- two off Escobedo's school record -- in one of her three wins last week.
