PALOS VERDES, Calif. – After the first day of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge, the No. 8 Sun Devil Women's Golf team was led by freshman Alexandra Försterling.
"We had a tough day all around," said head coach Missy Farr-Kaye. "Weather conditions were brutal. Palos Verdes is a fantastic golf course but we need to play without fear and with 100 percent commitment tomorrow. I believe my team will be ready to compete with heart. This team is mentally tough and is ready to come back strong tomorrow."
Senior Sofia Anokhina was just one stroke back from Försterling while Olivia Mehaffey and Raquel Olmos trailed Anokhina by a stroke.
