Former Scottsdale Saguaro star Kyle Soelle challenging for more playing time on ASU defense

The Sun Devil conducted their third spring practice and first at night Friday, working out inside the Verde Dickey Dome in shorts and shoulder pads.

Injuries and defections have left the Sun Devils thin on the defensive side of the ball, but another of the locals is hoping to take advantage of that and show what he can do.

Saguaro grad Kyle Soelle is among the freshmen that saw significant playing time last year for the young ASU defense, and the 6-foot-3, 215-pounder is yearning for more in the coming season.

Soelle spent considerable time in the off-season working out and adding 15 pounds or so to his sturdy frame.
