CORVALLIS, Ore. – Sun Devil Baseball mounted a ninth-inning rally for the third consecutive game, but eventually ceded the series finale to No. 3 Oregon State, 7-3, on Sunday at Goss Stadium in Corvallis, Ore.
The Sun Devils (13-6, 0-3), who had scored at least one run in the ninth inning in each of the past three games, scored twice in the ninth and put the tying run on deck with no outs. Shortstop Colby Woodmansee and catcher Brian Serven both walked to lead off the frame and a single by designated hitter Sebastian Zawada loaded the bases for left fielder Coltin Gerhart, who plated the lead runners with a two-run single to left field.
