On Dec. 12, Anthony Coleman was returning from a basketball event, about to grab a quick bite on a layover in Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. While charging his cellphone, he started watching Arizona State’s game at Kentucky.
At the time, Coleman, a marketing rep for Adidas, was familiar with Bobby Hurley. He had met the ASU coach at an Adidas retreat, but he wasn’t real schooled on Hurley’s coaching style.
After watching a few minutes, he had an idea.
“I saw Kodi Justice throw a pass, and I was like, ‘What the hell just happened?’ " Coleman said of the then-sophomore guard.
