Arizona State University seemed poised for banner seasons in most of the winter sports, which had their postseasons abruptly canceled in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
While there are still questions surrounding extending the eligibility of athletes, both winter and spring, another of the looming questions concerns the coaches, many of whom have incentives written into their contracts which reward postseason performances.
ASU Athletic Director Ray Anderson said Thursday his coaches will be granted those bonuses as if they postseason was contested.
"Its the right thing to do," Anderson said. "Obviously these were unforeseen circumstances out of their control.
