Boivin: Despite criticism, Pac-12's Scott determined

Depending on whom you ask, Larry Scott is either a visionary or a charlatan, an innovator or a disappointment.

In reality, he is behind the remarkable transformation of a conference that looks nothing like the weary-eyed organization he took over. Oddly enough, for a well-polished, accomplished Harvard graduate, communication at times has been his biggest stumbling block.

The Pac-12 commissioner took a break from conference meetings at the Arizona Biltmore on Thursday to address some of the hot-button issues facing the conference, including the eyebrows he raised for publicly criticizing Dan Guerrero, the UCLA athletic director who went against the conference’s wishes in a vote on football satellite camps.
