TEMPE, ARIZ.-- In late January, senior defender Bente Rogge qualified for the Tokyo Olympic Games with Team Netherlands, an accomplishment over a year in the making.
Rogge initially took a year away from Arizona State after her junior season ended in 2019 where she ventured back home to the Netherlands and started preparing for the Olympics scheduled to be held in 2020. Rogge soon figured out that qualifying would take her on a journey she never expected.
To prepare for the qualifying tournament, which was originally scheduled for March 2020, the entire Dutch National Selection Team, including Rogge, were centralized in Zeist, Utrecht to train and prepare together.
