The Sun Devil men's golf team travels to the 71st Annual Transamerica/(WFG) Western Intercollegiate at the Alister MacKenzie designed, Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz California April 8-9.
Since its inception in 1947, the Sun Devils have captured the tournament's team title four times (1977, 1974, 1972 and 1969). Scott Watkins in 1979 was the last Sun Devil to win the event, with Lee Mikles (1977), Howard Twitty (1972) and Stan Hobert (1957) also earning the individual title.
The Western Intercollegiate is a par 70, 6,615-yard course. The players will compete in a 54-hole tournament that will feature 36-holes on Saturday and 18 on Sunday.
