TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona State freshman quarterback Jayden Daniels was named the Maxwell Award Player of the Week, the Maxwell Football Club announced on Tuesday.
Daniels passed for a career-high 363 yards (fifth-most by a freshman in school history) and three touchdowns (with no turnovers), completed 72 percent of his passes (26-36) and led his third fourth-quarter comeback in Saturday's win. He also ran for 23 yards, including a 17-yard dash for the game-winning touchdown with 34 seconds remaining. Daniels connected with senior wide receiver and Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week Brandon Aiyuk for touchdown strikes of 40, 86 and 33 yards.
